ALMATY. July 14. BNews.kz – Microsoft Kazakhstan officially announces the release of the Kazakh version of new operating system for PC Windows – Windows® 7. The product is available in the state language with the help of the Language Interface Pack (LIP) interface which may be installed on the Russian or English version of Windows® 7.
The version Language Interface Pack (LIP) enables to use up to 80% of interface elements in Kazakh. This product is free and may be downloaded on the Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/kazakhstan.
«The Microsoft Corporation tries to make each of its products at most available for the people. So, Windows® 7 is by now translated into 54 world languages, out of which translation of 35 languages is complete localization, 19 languages are the LIP version. In Kazakhstan it is not the first localization of our products and we hope all of them will make for further development of the branch and conversion of state, commercial and social structures to the Kazakh language», – said the Director General of the Microsoft Kazakhstan Gunter Dam.
This project of localization is not only a contribution of the Microsoft to the development of IT-industry and increase computer literacy of the population, but also support in developing and learning the Kazakh language by all citizens living in the republic. So, the Kazakh language versions of the Microsoft products will allow both individual users and whole organizations to facilitate the work with information technologies. They also will help to further translation of documents circulation into the state language, will be a good support in the course of teaching Kazakh in schools and universities.
Release of these products was carried out with the support of the State terminological commission under the Government of the RK which took an active part in elaboration and approval of a special glossary consisting of professional terms in Kazakh.
