The development of information and communication branch was discussed in the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On 4th of June, the conference concerning development of information and communication branch has taken a place in the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The representatives of the Ministry of Communication and Information, JSC «National Information and Communication Holding “Zerde”, state agencies, national companies, ICT-companies have participated in this conference.

The discussion of the project of the Branch Program for Development of Information and Communication Technologies in the Republic of Kazakhstan during 2010-2014 was the basic subject, the Vice-Minister of Communication and Information Saken Sarsenov has shared the plans on development of this branch with the colleagues and has told about available achieved results in this direction. Saken Sarsenov has noted, that the Branch Program for Information and Communications Development during 2010-2014 has been developed on the basis of the analysis of current status of information and communications in the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account expert recommendations. «On the basis of analysis, we have formulated the development purposes till 2015 and have defined seven priority directions of work, which are shown in government program of the forced industrially-innovative development for 2010-2014 », - has been noted by the Vice-Minister. (Note - Basic Directions: modernization and development of information and communication infrastructure, development of the Kazakhstan segment in Internet network and Kazakh content, development of electronic services and electronic government, development of software sector and IT Services, development of digital telecasting, development of hi-tech equipment production and development of education in information and communication sphere).

Within the limits of this conference, its participants have discussed the basic directions in development of information and communications for 2010-2014, questions on development of competition in telecommunications, state measures for effective development of telecommunications, information technologies, development of domestic production and IT Services.

Besides, the domestic ICT-companies, manufacturers of ICT-equipment, developers of software and IT Services have announced their offers regarding necessary measures of the state support for development and production of the domestic equipment and regarding increase in Kazakh content. The Vice-Minister of Communication and Information has emphasized, that all offers for development of information and communications will be considered as much as possible in the project of the Branch Program for Development of Information and Communications during 2010-2014. «This program should define a vector of branch development for the next five years. For this reason, each your opinion is important for us», - has been emphasized by Saken Sarsenov.

Following the results of this conference, the protocol, which will become a basis for further development of the program document with representatives of the state and commercial sector, has been accepted. It is planned, that the Branch Program for Development of Informational and Communication Technologies in the Republic of Kazakhstan during 2010-2014 will be accepted in July of this year.
